Yesterday saw our U11’s Girls face off against Ince Rose Bridge Pantheress's at Stade’ de Banks. The game started quickly with lots of hard yards and tackles being made by both sides. However IRB got on the score sheet first with a great effort. Our Girls stood reliant though and hit back with a leveler thanks to Skyava crashing over the TRY line. An injury to OSJ’s stalwart, Uma, early in the first half meant a team shuffle, loss of playmaker and the table tilted slightly in IRB favor. The status quo lasted for most of the game with disallowed attempts and close calls from both ends. However in the second period of the game, IRB started to show some real strength with two power house displays from a few of their experienced girls. A couple of quick TRY’s put our girls on the back foot, but despite a few knocks and bangs, they didn’t give up. A lapse of concentration form our girls saw a TRY from IRB go through our middles. With the re-introduction of Uma to the team saw our girls back into shape and a fine display of grit and determination from Uma and the team was displayed for all to see. However the toll had been taken and the gas tank was nearly empty as IRB finished off strong towards the end with another TRY. Overall on the pitch the game was played in a good manner and was enjoyed by all. Our girls had tonnes of enthusiasm throughout the game, and with time, the skills will develop, making them an exciting promise for the future. Well done all
